Most neighborhoods have a handful of places that end up woven into the daily routine. The spot you stop at before work. The one you call when nobody wants to cook. The one you bring family to when they're in town.
Dinner Is Served is trying to be that place for the neighborhoods around NW 95th Street.
We're a family-owned restaurant at 1001 NW 95th Street in Miami, serving Caribbean, Haitian, Latin, and American food Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM - breakfast through dinner, dine in, takeout, or ordered ahead online.
Where We Are, and Who That Puts Us Near
Location is most of what makes a restaurant a neighborhood restaurant.
We're on NW 95th Street, which puts us within a short drive of:
- Miami Shores - a few minutes east
- El Portal and Biscayne Park - just to the north and east
- North Shore Medical Center - on the same street
- I-95 - close enough to be a practical stop coming or going
That mix shapes who walks through the door. Mornings bring people heading to work and hospital staff coming off overnight shifts. Midday brings lunch breaks and nearby crews. Evenings bring families, and people picking up dinner on the way home.
It also shapes the hours. Opening at 8:00 AM and staying open until 10:00 PM six days a week is a decision made for a neighborhood that doesn't run on a single schedule.
A Family-Owned Kitchen
Dinner Is Served is family-owned, and that shows up in specific ways rather than as a slogan.
Food is cooked to order rather than assembled from a standardized playbook. The menu isn't set by a corporate office - it reflects what the kitchen actually cooks well and what this neighborhood actually orders. And when something isn't right, the feedback goes to the people who can change it, not up a chain to a regional office.
That's the practical version of "family-owned." It means decisions are made here.
What We Actually Cook
The menu sits at the intersection of a few traditions, which is what you'd expect from a kitchen in this part of Miami.
Caribbean and Haitian dishes are the heart of it. Marinated Fried Pork, or Griot - citrus-and-spice marinated pork fried until golden - is our signature. Oxtail Stew, braised until it falls apart. Conch, or Lambi, fried or steamed. Bouillon, the traditional soup with vegetables, meat, and dumplings. Whole Snapper, fried or steamed. Latin and American comfort food runs alongside it. Ground Beef Picadillo, Cuban Style Chicken Breast, BBQ Ribs, Shrimp Creole, Oven-Baked Salmon. Cuban sandwiches, steak sandwiches, tuna melts, burgers. Alfredo combinations with chicken, shrimp, steak, or salmon.
Sides are where a plate comes together: fried and sweet plantains, rice and beans, boiled yuca, green beans, broccoli, corn, salad. Most entrées come with your choice of two.
Breakfast starts at 8:00 AM - breakfast platters with eggs and plantains, grilled beef steak with eggs and grits, breakfast sandwiches, and a full café list including café con leche, cappuccino, and macchiato.
The Patio
Behind the restaurant is a renovated outdoor patio with shaded picnic tables and string lights. Most days it's simply where people eat.
But it also works as a venue. We host private events there for groups of up to 50 - birthdays, family gatherings, corporate dinners, church groups, networking events, holiday parties - with karaoke and live Caribbean music available. Eligible karaoke or live-music bookings currently receive 10% off.
When your event is somewhere else, catering covers it instead.

The Wednesday program in particular is aimed squarely at our closest neighbors. Being on the same street as North Shore Medical Center means a lot of the people we see every week work in healthcare or emergency response.
